Hello all, my daughter is 6 years old she recently hasn't been very well, she is pale and seems to be getting unwell quite a lot, I took her to the Dr who sent her for some blood tests, they came back as raised platelets so the Dr repeated them, the second set came back and the Dr called me in to the surgery today to discuss the results, her platelets are still high and the drnhas referred her to a pediatrician for further tests, just wondering if anyone has any ideas what this could be, thank you x

I’m not medically trained but I think that it can be raised simply beacause she has been fighting a virus. Hopefully you will get some reassurance soon.

Loads of things can cause raised white blood cell counts, and the vast majority aren't a cause for concern.

Let them do their tests and try not to worry. And don't start googling.
