Headlice/nits or dandruff

How can you tell the difference between nits and dandruff? I've been checking my 3 year olds hair and I can't tell if it's nits or dandruff? My older daughter checked mine and I sometimes get a dry flaky scalp but now I've just got it in my head what if it's nits?? She said there was white bits.

Nits are black, plus the bigger ones are quite clear to see. Sounds more like dandufe.

NIts are REALLY hard to see in dry hair.
Wet comb the hair (wet hair, cover in conditioner, comb with fine tooth comb from chemist, making sure you get close to the scalp). Wipe comb on kitchen roll after each go. The headlice are the ones with legs who start wandering around once they’ve dried out!

Nita are eggs which are stuck to the hair shaft. You can’t easily remove them. - you either slide them out with a comb or pull the hair out.

Dandruff is easily ruffled or combed out.

I find nit eggs easy to spot - because my dcs have had them before Envy

Agree you can't see lice in hair if your concerned a bottle of cheap conditioner and a nitty gritty comb.
If they are there you will see the buggers.
Eldest dd has recently had them. Three weeks of combing every night and they've finally bloody gone
We nit comb our four dc every Sunday night.
