Are these chicken pox? There are only about 3 spots on baby's body? I'm just not sure 🤔

I thought they developed a bit of a rash first then they blister? Every kid is different though.
Any other symptoms?

Iputthescrewinthetuna · 10/02/2019 21:15

How old is baby? Have any more spots appeared?
They look like c.pox to me. I would want to be sure though. You can phone GP tmrw, they may want to look and put dc in isolation room to look at him/her. X

Minimonkeysmum · 10/02/2019 21:21

Looks very much like it - if it is, more spots should appear by morning. Unless baby is very young, or very unwell, it's best to avoid the GP as you could pass it on to someone

Minimonkeysmum · 10/02/2019 21:22

(But worth calling them if you're worried as they may want to see and can put you in isolation as previous poster suggested)

Looks like it to me. My DD is just getting over it and hers looked exactly like this. Took forever to come out - one blister on the Sunday, a few more the following morning and took 2 more days to fully come out. I found E45 anti itch cream good, piriton for the itching if baby isn't too young and calpol for any fever. Remember not to give nurofen. Good luck.

pajamallama · 10/02/2019 21:28

Yup. My youngest has it at the moment. Looks exactly like this.

shesthemama · 10/02/2019 21:40

Thanks guys! He's 9 months but has no other symptoms at all and is fine in himself which made me question it!! He also has only 6 spots too so I'm expecting more to come over the next few days then xx

Just wondered how you included the pic? My daughter has blisters coming up but doesn't look like chicken pox (plus already had them once)

Iputthescrewinthetuna · 11/02/2019 20:54

How is little one today?

shesthemama · 12/02/2019 09:24

You can attach a photo there's a symbol next to the text sign on my iPhone

He's fine today, it's definitely pox he's slowly coming out with more spots but he's still none the wiser and his usual cheeky self 🤷🏻‍♀️ only a matter of time before my 2 year old gets it!!!

I had a 6 month old with Cpox. Along with 2 and 8 year old.
The baby was definitely the easiest and happiest.
2 year old was more tired and grouchy. She came up with some inventive ways to disguise her scratching.
8 year old didn't cope at all, but she was v poorly, ended up in hospital. (Nothing serious in the end)

Chalomine (sp) cream is better than the chalky liquid thing. It really helped the itching!

Hope your children are ok! Thanks

If it is chicken pox (ds's spots looked more like tight, clear water blisters to begin with), once the itching starts a nice lukewarm bath with loads of bicarbonate of soda in it is really soothing and much easier than applying cream over loads of crusty spots. We used 1 full tub of baking bicarb in each full size bath when ds had it. Went through a dozen tubs of it, he even had a bath at 3am one morning when it was at its worst!!
