Toddler sleeping a lot

Is it normal for children to sleep a lot when they are ill? Before DS (18m) has always slept less when he is ill. Yesterday he woke at normal time and had a nap on me in the morning (unheard of), usual after lunch nap and then a little nap in the car. He was falling asleep after dinner so went to bed at 5.30. Today we woke at 6, napped in the sling for 30 mins while we were out, usual lunchtime nap but when he came down went straight to sleep on me and is still asleep. He doesn't have a temperature but is very snotty, streaming eyes etc.

Mine naps more when he's really really snotty. I'm no expert by any means but wanted to answer.

Yes definitely when poorly. If your worried and think it's out of character get him in with GP.

DS is dropping the nap now at 3yo but had a long nap yesterday. Woken today with conjunctivitis. Slept for 3 hours this afternoon.

He also naps before a growth spurt or a brain development. Slept loads one week and started doing phonics that week.

I wouldn't worry if his temp is ok.
