Changing a 7 week olds formula..?

I'm not sure if this is best place to ask but has anyone changed their babies formula? My 7 week old has bad wind (from the bottom end!) and almost all of his poos are diahorrea, he isn't phased by this and happily takes a bottle and is putting on weight well etc. I won't be seeing my health visitor until Wednesday but I wanted to try and change before then, I'm just looking for any advice/other people's experience.

Thanks Smile

What milk are they on? Is it watery diarrhoea or just runny poo?

Hi I had to do this with my newborn he was on sma however he would happily take the bottle but after he was so upset pulling his knees up to his tummy in discomfort and screaming the house down, it was horrible. Out of desperation we went to the shop one night and changed to cow and gate, didn't ask the health visitor due to it being late but he was fine and seemed calmer next feed. He's been on it ever since and is now 13 weeks old and a happy little chapSmile

Runny poo is normal is babies. Maybe take a picture of it and show your HV.

Thank you, all I really appreciate your replies. Funnily enough he is on SMA! It's not watery it's just like a runny, very smelly, green colour but it's every single time he poos, has been for a couple of weeks. Before that they were much more solid. I wouldn't mind the odd runny one but this definitely isn't right. I think I'm going to try cow and gate as have had this reccomendation from 2 friends as well 😊

I can’t comment on poo, but SMA is known to cause wind, and constipation and other problems.
Everyone I know who used it had some sort of issue and my health visitor both said they are not allowed to recommend a formula but to avoid SMA.

Might as well try another, nothing to use.
I have used HIPP organic and never had any issues.

@Nolagerformethanks my little boys nappies absolutely stunk(I can't even describe the smell) while on sma and still do now and are quite runny even though we changed his milk but I think it's just his normal. Hope all goes well Smile
