Recurrent croupy cough

Hi all,

DS had croup a few weeks ago which sorted itself out fairly quickly (usual treatments like calpol etc). He seems totally fine in himself but since then has woken up a few times with a nasty croupy cough and slightly raspy breathing. It never lasts for long - once he's up and about and has had some ibuprofen or calpol it goes away and he's fine.
I just wondered if anyone else had experienced this and it's normal for it to keep coming back or if I should be speaking to my GP about it. By the time I could actually get him to an appointment though his cough would be gone!

Thanks.
