Spending a fortune on worm medicine

Hi there,

We seem to get worms every few months, and it costs a fortune. Does anyone know if you can buy mebendazole on the internet cheaper than in the shops, or where the cheapest place to buy it is?

Thanks in advance all!

Are you taking a second dose two weeks later?

Rhymes! That’s why so expensive! Also following hygiene rules, but they keep coming back (DD aged 2 does suck her hands after playing at nursery all day)...

Can you not get it from your doctor on prescription. That is free for your child.

I think you need to work on why you are getting them so often. Have you spoken with nursery, or anywhere else she goes.

Are you cleaning properly etc.

Hi all, thanks for your answers. Yes, I could get a prescription, but then I need to get a drs appointment each time we get them, and they need treating fast! We probably get them twice / three timeS a year. The problem is that two of my three kids and I suffer terribly when we get them (can’t sleep till 2am, in so much pain), so we know immediately when we have them where as lots of people have them for ages without ever knowing. If one of us gets it, the whole family needs a dose at the time, and two weeks later. We have strict hygiene (washing towels/ bed clothes regularly, hands after we go to the toilet and when we come in from playing), but my two year old and the six year old do put their hands in their mouths sometimes, we stop it when we see it, but they are the ones who go to school / nursery.

I just hoped their might be an equivalent of “own brand” that I could buy to keep on standby!

The joys of parenting.....
