I’m on hold with 111.
I posted earlier.
DD was seen at GP who was worried about dehydration. I was to call out of hours if she hadn’t peed by 8pm. She had a pee about 6pm but has developed this bruise mottle type rash. Temp still 40 despite regular calpol. Brufen makes her vomit.
Does this rash look serious? I’m worried about something more sinister such as sepsis.

Urgent please

agree with sheep - when DS had similar symptoms (he had scarlet fever) I had to push to see the triage nurse straight away at which point we went straight into a private cubicle and was seen quickly and within 15 minutes he had iv antibiotics in

That said another time (no rash the first he did) he was just given nurofen to bring down his temp as it was that which was making him poorly!

I hope all is okay.

MrsJane · 23/01/2019 20:08

Hope everything's OP. My dd had something like this once, it was 'just' viral but she was so poorly, so try not to worry (too much!). But you are absolutely doing the right thing going to A & E, best to get her checked out Thanks

Rememory · 23/01/2019 20:33

Nogodsnomasters · 23/01/2019 22:51

Hope everything is OK, you're probably still at A&E if wait times are anything to go by. I hope they can make your daughter feel better soon

AmazingGrace16 · 24/01/2019 13:24

Thank you so much everyone.
My husband thought I was a bit OTT so we phoned 111, while I was on the phone I noticed she also had a pinprick rash developing over her neck and shoulder. She was also suddenly very difficult to wake and her temp was up to 40.5. 111 decided to send out an ambulance.
The paramedics checked her over and her readings were obviously off so they tried to phone to see if we could get her admitted straight into the paeds ward rather than go through A&E. They asked if we could first have assessed by another GP before bringing her in as the GP would be able to admit her.
So they made us an appointment for our local GP who assessed her again and decided she wasn’t dehydrated enough for the ward and said to check her throughout the night for signs the rash was getting worse. And he sent us home to continue calpol and penicillin. She was sleeping all night, all day and fever has broke and she is so much brighter today.
They don’t know exactly what it was but we managed to get through it at home. The rash is still there but not any worse at all and her eating and drinking is loads better today.
She did give us a big scare.

Phew! Glad she’s ok.

Nogodsnomasters · 25/01/2019 15:17

Glad to hear she has perked up a lot and the fever has broke. Its so scary when they get like that.

Quartz2208 · 25/01/2019 16:46

Sounds a lot like scarlet fever is the rash sand like in texture?

Nomorecakes · 25/01/2019 18:14

It’s not raised at all but she has lots of sores in her mouth appeared today. She’s not eaten much because it’s too sore.

hand foot and mouth then perhaps

flatpackbox · 25/01/2019 21:33

I’m pleased she is Ok. I didn’t post but read your thread and thought about it on Thursday as we were in a children’s hospital all day (routine for us).

Let’s hope your DD gets back to normal soon.
