During some blood tests for sleep issues my 7 yo has recently been diagnosed with neutropenia, so he doesn't have enough neutrophils which are the white blood cells that destroy bacteria.
The GP has referred him to a haematologist for possible further testing. He seems well in himself. What might they do? He can be an anxious little guy and is a bit worried.
When I google neutropenia I mostly get hits about children who have low neutrophils due to cancer treatment, which obviously isn't his case. So I'm at a bit of a loss what to say to him.
Anyone been through similar?
