Removing hardened EEG glue from a newborn

Our baby had to have an EEG and they let the glue sit and have left it for me to remove and now it is rockhard!

How can I safely remove this without hurting him?

They suggested nail polish remover which I refuse to use obviously!👀

Baby oil, conditioner or even miceller water might work.
