Do your children’s gums ever bleed when brushing?

Dd is 9 and for a while now we sometimes some blood when brushing her 4 front gums. I mentioned it the dentist yesterday when she had a check up. The first thing he asked me is she well in herself. I replied yes and then he went on to take a look and said it was probably due to plaque build up. Now I’m worried that it could be due to a underlying health reason instead but trying not to google. I often make my gums bleed while brushing the front of the gums so haven’t ever really been too bothered before

If they also have any of the following, definitely take them to the GP:

Blood in wee
Blood in poo
Spontaneous nosebleeds (especially if hard to stop)
Easy bruising
Fine speckly flat rashes that don't fade away when pressing on them
Unusually pale
Unusually tired

Yes, my DD. It can be hormonal, same as when pregnancy effects your teeth.
