I’m at my wits end!!
My seven year old daughter is complaining of chronic pain, mainly in her stomach ( above her navel as well as more central and occasionally radiating down right hand side), leg pain in both legs not always at the same time, occasionally neck pain and frequently pain in her arms as well !! She is constantly feeling nauseous although never vomits, and hasn’t had a temperature. She has lost weight and isn’t herself This has been going on for a couple of months I have been to the gp on numerous occasions ( am waiting to see a hospital consultant in the 25th of this month), it was so bad this week that we took her to a and e thinking it was appendix , they felt her stomach, took a urine sample and sent her home. Paracetamol and ibuprofen don’t do a thing. I’m really worried about her , surely it can’t be right for a child to be in constant pain, has anyone else been through anything like thixy, any help greatly appreciated .

Probably nothing like it but my 5 year old has been having horrible acid reflux and indigestion for a year, he gets stomach pain with it and often felt sick, he was randomly sick a lot in the last 12 months. Weirdly he got a lot of stitch pain as well, I did think appendix but gp said if it was that we'd know. He has problems with constipation as well which was giving him stomach pain.
Anyway he's on his third month of omeprazole and has been massively better.
Trapped wind and indigestion type pain can be really horrible, could it be something like this op?

This sounds similar to my 7yo. She also has occasional severe stomach cramps (ended up on hospital twice) she lost weight, and developed anaemia. Eventually she was seen by a paediatrician and diagnosed with IBS. She was prescribed an antispasmodic which she used to have daily but now just had in an acute episode. She is so much better, gained weight, no longer anaemic and finally grown! Keep pushing!

Has she had a blood test for coeliac disease? That can certainly cause the weight loss, stomach pain and nausea and I think joint pains as well. My daughters are both being assessed for it at the moment. The first step is a blood test - might be worth asking your GP if it's a possibility and if so, try to get the test done before the consultant appointment.
