I’m hoping someone can give me some help, and thanks in advance.
My 8 year old daughter developed an itchy rash a week ago now, and GP said have to treat as scabies (initial treatment for fungal rash didn’t work). She has now had a week off school as the rash is widespread and very itchy, and she has had very disturbed sleep and been very distressed by it. I know the rash and itching of scabies can last 2-4 weeks after treatment, but obviously she can’t stay off school all that time. She is very worried about going back with the rash, itching and scratching etc in front of her class mates and teacher, and feeling distressed and self conscious.
Has anyone else’s child had this, how long did itching last, how long off school etc. please. The whole thing has caused us sleepless nights and upset for a week now, plus disturbed sleep / itching / soreness with Athletes Foot all over Xmas holidays too, poor thing.
Any advice welcome please.
