Can you catch chickenpox again or become poorly?

Hi all,

Dd has had chicken pox before but has been in very close contact with a friend who has just come out with them.
Can she come down with anything or the pox again, do you think?

Thanks.

If she had it mildly, or before the age of 1 it is possible to have it again.

You can't get shingles from contact with chicken pox.

Yes - my eldest DD (now nearly 18) had a very impressive dose of chicken pox aged 3 and recaught it age 11. Second time round she had far fewer spots but was more unwell. GP confirmed it was chicken pox. It’s more common to caught it again if the first dose was mild or as a baby.
