Temperature and dry nappy

My 2yr DD has had temps over night - peaking at 39 but comes down with calpol. She woke this morning with a wet nappy. Since 6am she had drunk and eaten breakfast and lunch. I've just been to change her nappy as I've noticed it hasn't looked full - and it's bone dry. Is this a coincidence with age or would you get her checked out? She has never held it in before. It's been dry for 6 hrs. I'm now offering juice.

Ring 111.

igglepigglegingin · 07/01/2019 12:21

Just to add she looks quite mottled

ring 111 or make dr appt

Jackshouse · 07/01/2019 12:33

Have you pressured a glass to her skin?

With your update definitely 111 but don’t be surprised if they say go to A and E. It is not guaranteed to be serious but she is very little.

Wolfiefan · 07/01/2019 12:36

Hope she’s seen soon. Any swelling?

igglepigglegingin · 07/01/2019 12:47

Typically she's did a small wee as soon as I posted - but she held her crotch which is unusual and she's even more mottled now - so going to get her checked.

Hope all is ok OP.

I am getting advice but this is mottling right?

Yes.

Are her hands and feet cold?

Quartz2208 · 07/01/2019 13:22

Mottling shows that the body is fighting an infection be it a viral or bacterial. My son gets it whatever infection he is fighting. So whilst it is a potential sign of a serious infection (and needs looking at by a professional) it could also be a much more simple infection

Jackshouse · 07/01/2019 13:24

igglepigglegingin how is it going? If it was my DD I would be scooping her up and taking her to a and e.

JellycatElfie · 07/01/2019 20:18

Are you both ok?

Florries · 07/01/2019 20:19

Ask 'could it be sepsis'.

How are you both, op? Hoping DD if fine and well.

YouBoggleMyMind · 07/01/2019 21:21

I hope you're ok and have sought medical advice. The sounds like a nasty UTI and the mottling could be a sign of sepsis.

Georgepigthedragon · 07/01/2019 21:32

I hope she's OK. That would really worry me.

Wolfiefan · 07/01/2019 23:10

Thinking of you OP.

igglepigglegingin · 08/01/2019 07:32

She is well, I will update fully later on - but all ok. Thank you so much for your help.

Wolfiefan · 08/01/2019 08:12

Thank goodness.

Florries · 08/01/2019 21:08

So glad to hear she's okay, OP.

Take care.
