Red book growth charts

My HV has just visited for DS's 6-8 week check. I've had a look in the red book to see what centile lines he's on and noticed there are only girl growth charts, no boy ones. HV has plotted on the girl charts.

Can anyone tell me whether the red book should contain both girl and boy growth charts (and mine's missing the boys ones) , or if there's a red book for boys, and a red book for girls. Bit annoyed the HV didn't spot this!

It should have both, and they are a little different. I can't remember if they are over laid on the same page?

Mine have sex specific books rather than both chart types in the book. Maybe your area is the same & you were given the wrong book in the hospital? I'm surprised it's not been noticed though.

My DS's (6 mo) book only has boy charts. His has got a blue dot sticker on the front cover too

Girl and boy charts are different so speak to your HV and get a new chart: it’s quite important they are plotted correctly.

When dd1 had hers it had both.
By the time dd2 and ds came along you got only one.

Remembering back to my son at that age, the hv said 'oh the book hasn't got a boy chart I'll add it'. So it's not unusual.

It should have both and they differ slightly. Boys tend to be slightly bigger than girls. I don’t think it’s a massive problem but hopefully the HV will sort a new book, or perhaps just finding some boy charts will be easier 😊

I think I had my girl pages ripped out of my red book for my DS.
