Hi everyone. My daughter has chickenpox and was really unwell with it as soon as the spots appeared - with her worst being at day 3 and 4 with her temp hitting 39.7 and Calpol not helping much. We phoned my gp and they wouldn't see her and told us to ring out of hours who wouldn't see her either. Anyway- we are on day 7 now and a lot of the chickenpox have scabbed and look dry but she still has a lot that haven't yet. She has had what I believe is quite a bad dose of it (presuming why she was so poorly with it). She's all good in herself now but I have just noticed that some of the scabs are being knocked off too early. She is very good at not scratching them but looks like they may have caught or just fallen off no matter how careful we've been. She's just had a bath and I've noticed she now has quite a few on her back and chest and inner leg that have come off. Some I'm sure were dry scabs before this. Going to take some pics down to the chemist to see if they can suggest anything. But just wondering is it normal for them to look white/yellow underneath where the scab would have been. They look so sore. She suffers with eczema and she could barely bend her knees due to the spots behind them and now most of those scabs have come off too :( we have aqueous calamine which is supposed to be better with her eczema but I'm worried about putting that on an open sore. Guessing they will dry up and scab over again but I've gotten really paranoid that they may get infected or are.
