Adenoid after care

Hi my DS (3) had his Adenoids out yesterday. The consultant originally told us he would have to ge kept away from other children for 2 weeks but when we left the hospital we got a leaflet stating he was to be kept away from school/nursery, places he could pick up a cold and smokey places for 5 to 7 days.

Has anybody got experience of this what did you do? He is completely fine and back to his normal self, would we be ok visiting relatives as long as nobody is ill?

My DS got his removed when he was 2, now coming up for 4, when he had his done he was off nursery for about 10 days or more, we took precautions as we didn’t want him catching anything so quick, was around 5 days after before he seen family members, but I always made sure they weren’t ill before seeing them as my little one caught everything so quick, as long you follow guidelines am sure it will be fine

My dd was off preschool a week, but was perfectly healthy and happy after 2 days. We kept it to trips to the park and library etc. But it was relatively easy thankfully.
