Hi, my daughter blinks excessively as well (5), it’s worst when she’s watching tv. I took her to the GP and he said it’s actually very common and probably just a tic, he said she would almost definately grow out of it most of them are short lived. After doing some panicking and googling I came the conclusion that he was right. She has actually started to improve over the past couple of months.

I’m really surprised that the consultant was so willing/quick to put your daughter on medication so fast, does she have any other symptoms? I completely understand you not wanting to put her on medication I’d be the same. I assume it’s not hurting or bothering her but I’m guessing she’s suffering from anxiety in another way too for him to prescribe this?

You probably have but I would put the tablets to one side and work really hard or making sure she is as relaxed as possible and getting rid of her anxieties and maybe this will fade away on its own. I had a stanmar growing up caused by anxiety, this went with time. I think she will be ok you just need to find the root of it and take it from there xx
