Hi,

My LO has been getting hard spots in clusters over her body. They have been coming and going at different times in clusters over the past 3 weeks. They are itchy and she says that they also hurt.

I have taken her to the doctors 3 times now and they don't know what it is and have given her 2 different antibiotics but they aren't making a difference. They have ruled out chicken pox because they are coming up slowly and started on her legs.

Fresh ones have come up today on her back so I thought I would ask on here and hope someone can help me please

Do you have a picture?

Molluscum contagiosum? Tends to go away by itself but uncomfortable while they have it.

Definitely think of the molloscum. No offence to medics but when my son had it as an infant the doc had to look it up in a book to check. Internet now of course.

Thank you so much Tony and gladyoucame - I have just googled molloscum and it sounds exactly like it! I'm going to take back to the doctors with this knowledge. None of them had a clue. That has definitely given me some peace of mind. Merry Christmas.

They won't do anything for it. It will run it's course but may last for months

Peaspleaselouise · 26/12/2018 19:51

Yep - as PPs day, Molloscum. Lasted two years in my daughter (she's now 6) but they literally disappeared overnight after that. They used to get very inflamed sometimes.

ashtrayheart · 26/12/2018 19:54

My dd has molloscum for about 18 months, eventually they disappeared. I think there is some stuff you can buy that supposedly clears it up sooner, but I’m not sure how effective it is!

Was it very itchy for your LO's? She doesn't stop itching them and I them she now has them on the palms of her hands.
