Diet advice for constipated 2 year old

I think DS is becoming constipated as he is in pain as he poo’s and has passed a blood streaked one today. I am going to get him a GP appointment ASAP but in the meantime is there anything diet wise that will help?

He already drinks plenty, eats lots of fruit and a reasonable amount of veg. Are there any foods that can make it worse that I should be avoiding?

Banana and eggs can make it worse.
I have also heard that too much milk can contribute.

Sorry you're DS is going through this, it's miserable. I find that prunes (Ella's pouches are convenient) or apple purée can help.

Doctor may well prescribe lactulose.

Thanks! He does like bananas so will cut them out for a while. He doesn’t eat egg and only has milk on cereal and the odd cup as a drink every now and again.

I will get some prunes and apple purée to see if he will eat it. He has an apple every day and does like raisins so might be able to get prunes in him!
