Nosebleeds

My 5yo, nearly 6, has been getting nosebleeds about every 2-3 weeks for a while,

I thought it was because he was picking his nose, but the last couple have been at night when in bed.

Is this normal or should I take to GP? Worried it's a sign of something more sinister.

Any advice? Neither me or DP have ever had nosebleeds,

It's not normal but also reasonably common. I would see your GP for a referral to ENT where they can take a look and they may want to cauterise it if the blood loss is significant.

Dd had these and had a nasal spray and antihistamine prescribed. She eventually got it cauterised as she was having them in class and it was disrupting her work

Oh ok thanks !
I'll take him to the GP when there's an available appointment.

Its probably nothing to worry about but I would go to the GP to get it checked out. I had at least 1 nosebleed a week growing up but it was nothing serious. I still get them occasionally but I just learnt to deal with them.x
