DDH and Palvik harness...advice?

Hi. My son is 5 weeks old and has been diagnosed with DDH and is in a Palvik harness. Looking for advice on what to dress him in...he’s not even fitting in 0-3 clothes without harness but unsure what sizes to go out and buy now? Can he wear trousers or leggings in bigger sizes? Feel a bit lost with it all really.

Hello my friend had this with her daughter - she went the next size up and basically her daughter was in socks jumpers vests and dresses. I think she was advised to put nothing over the hips.

Thank you, ah we weren’t told that!!😞 it seems much harder for boys as I don’t really want to put him in a dress and with it being winter he can’t go free on the bottom half :(

I'm thinking you'll have to do long long socks jumpers and blankets - fortunately he's very little so will be happy wrapped up x

It's worth checking with your consultant about the clothes though - the hips displacement might be different x

Marks and Spencer have some special hip dysplasia clothing for babies - I’ll try to link below. Would that work? I’m sorry I have no experience of DDH but remember seeing these bits when I was browsing recently.

Thank you for the responses! I am going to check with the hospital but having done a little research I think that as long as the trousers are baggy and dont rest on the hips we should be fine...going to buy two sizes up today!

The trousers would have to sit chest level not to be in the way. Size up baby grows and choose ones with side poppers. I found those work best.

There's also a specialist website that were great but a bit pricey
