Does this sound like coeliacs? What else could it be?

My 10 year old has been referred for a load of different blood tests as she hasn't been herself for a while. I know no one can diagnose her online, but really just wondered if her symptoms sounded familiar? Especially for anyone with experience of coeliacs as that's what seems to come up most on searches.

Her symptoms are:
Complaining of tiredness for months (but still doing all normal activities, normal sleep pattern etc)
Pale, dark circles under eyes.
Nauseous.
Had been randomly sick on a few occasions
Frequently needing the toilet. Runny, fairly pale stools
Appetite ok, says she has felt more hungry than usual recently.
General feeling of 'not being well'.

All the symptoms are minor in themselves, could easily be put down to hormones etc. I just don't know what to expect. Confused

My DS is coeliac. When he was first diagnosed he was randomly sick then the runny stools you describe but his main symptom was stomach pain, right in the centre just above his belly button. He was also pale with a huge bloated stomach.

What you've described ticks lots of coeliac boxes. Is there anyone in the family with it? It is genetic although we don't have anyone else.

I'd ask for a blood test it's quick and easy to test for antibody levels. If they are raised it's a more lengthy diagnosis process.

Hope you get sorted.

My mil is a Coeliac and reacts like this. I am not but am hugely wheat intolerant.l and also react like this. So even if tests show no coeliacs (biopsy not just blpods) they might still be unable tolerate wheat.

Thanks for replying. No, there's no one else in the family with it as far as we know. Although as have been going through her symptoms,I realise that I have several as well. But I'm terrible for getting an idea stuck in my head and then seeing all the things that 'fit' if you know what I mean?

We're getting a blood test done, as well as tests for diabetes, thyroid function, full blood count and possibly some others. I think the doctor just wanted to be thorough and rule out every possibility. Will just have to wait and see what they show.
