viral cough but not sure

my daughter is nearly 3 GPs said viral cough on Thursday but 5 year old brother had croup week before. concerned she's a lot worse of a night fought for about a minute constantly making herself heave like she's being sick but nothing's coming out. any advice?? thanku

I'm going through this now with my 4 year old son. He's constantly coughing and I'm in and out of his room because he sounds as though he going to be sick. He goes into such an awful coughing fit, I've given him vicks and even though he doesn't have asthma I've given him an inhaler he used previously when he had croup just in case he starts wheezing. Hope your lo is ok, lots of nasty bugs going around. It's going to be a long night!!

temp keeps going high up to 39 friday hot to touch cold feet though. is this normal should I go back? horrible when u can't help her. she is proper up to sleep with vix on & Calpol but twice as bad at night isn't it & thank u & u

My son has been coughing for over an hour non stop so I wedged a pillow under the mattress at the top to elevate his head. He has now stopped coughing. Maybe try that for her. If her temp isn't dropping and your concerned then I would ring 111 just to be on safe side. Hope she's feeling better soon and yes it's always worse at night.
