Slapped cheek? Or allergy

Just noticed this rash on DS (2.3yrs). It came up over dinner as a small patch and has slowly become very angry in the last hour. Now spread over half his face and down his neck. Rash is really hot to touch although he isn't bothered by it at all. He has normal temp although has been very snotty last few days.

Any ideas?

Did you get this diagnosed? It looks like when my DS had scarlet fever.

Hi. Just seen your reply. We think an allergy as one dose of piriton and it disappeared by morning. He's been completely choked with the cold since but no more rashes thankfully

Ah that's good. Glad he's better.

My DS has allergies and is anaphylactic to various things. I initially thought his Scarlett fever was a reaction and dosed him up to the sky on antihistamines... I took him to hospital because I was scared the reaction wasn't responding to the antihistamine and he'd have a delayed anaphylaxis. I was quite relieved when they said Scarlett fever!

He didn't respond to antihistamine at all though.

Hope he's over his cold soon.
