Stupid question about chickenpox

I have a stupid question about chickenpox.

On 2nd November my 6 month old woke up with obvious chickenpox spots so possibly she had them mildly on the 1st. However my 2 year old hasn’t had chickenpox and is showing no signs yet but I know the incubation period is 2-3 weeks. I’ve kept away from baby groups in case my toddler is contagious but wondering when would be safe to go back? Thursday/Friday will be 3 weeks from DD2s first spots but she’ll have been contagious from possibly Tuesday - Monday. Is there still a possibility that my eldest could wake up with them on Monday?

There's a possibility, but unless she's symptomatic there's no reason for you to stay away. The thing with chickenpox is that exposure could happen at any time...and you have no way of knowing whether it will be the first, fifth or ??? exposure (if any) will cause the dreaded pox. Your DD could have been exposed since her sister stopped being contagious - you just don't know.
