Breath Holding Attacks / Breath Holding Spells

Hi All,

I’m looking to see if anyone else is going through breath holding attacks with their little one.

Our son is 10 months old and they started around a month ago. We have visited the hospital several times after the usual scary 15 minutes of little one holding his breath after a crying spell, going rigid as if fitting, then turning blue and then going unconscious for about 5 seconds before coming back to us, somewhat paler but otherwise ok.

The consultant at the hospital has reassured us that no harm can come to him during these attacks. They appear to become more frequent when he is unwell. We no longer go to the hospital and remain at home and contact our GP to inform them that another attack has occurred.

We are based in Northampton and are unaware of any local support groups. I wonder if there are any support groups out there and how people went about setting them up as me and my husband think it would be really useful and are looking into setting one up in Northampton.

Thanks in advance
