No poop at Nursery!

Hi everyone,

My son is 4 years old. He’s been potty trained since 2.5 years old.

For the past couple of months I’ve noticed him needing to use the toilet as soon as we get home. I asked him if he poops at nursery and he answered “no because my friends will laugh at me”. I had a chat with him that everyone goes and it’s nothing to be laughed at for.
I wasn’t too worried because I know it is common for people want to go in the comfort of their own home.

However the past two weeks, as soon as we leave nursery he says he really must go and I end up rushing us home as quickly as I can. He only just makes it some days!

Monday he said to me that he did go because he was at forest school and he explained that one of his favourite members of staff had wiped his bottom. So I said see that’s great that you went and they will always help you. But today it was back to him holding it then saying about going as soon as I picked him up.

I’m worried about him making himself unwell as I’m not sure how long he’s holding it for. But I’m also worried as I really don’t know how to help him?

Thank you in advance
