Ulcer or something else

Our 3-year-old boy seems to have an angry ulcer in his mouth.

Is it an ulcer or could it be something else.

Any treatment tips?

Thanks

Oh my goodness, poor thing that looks massive
Has he burnt his lip there or hurt himself there in someway? It could be an ulcer, it looks like one but it would be quite large for one. Is it very painful? Does he have any others or does he get a lot of ulcers?

In terms of management just normal painkillers like Calpol and make sure he is still eating and drinking.

Any spots or feeling ill? Hand , foot and mouth is doing the rounds....

We think it is an ulcer but as you say quite big. He has had quite a few ulcers like this over the years. Definitely not a burn. Doesn’t seem to cause him too much discomfort. Just looks nasty.

He has had a temperature the last two days so maybe related?

No other evidence of hand foot and mouth (no spots) so I don’t think so.
