SOS Eczema!

My DD has bad eczema on her eyelids which is really bothering her now she's becoming more aware of her appearance. We have tried hydrocortisone in all forms, E45, sudacrem, emollient, Umgwawotsit cream to some success but nothing is shifting it now 🆘 TIA

Kawakawa Balm. Buy online from Frankies Apothecary. Have never used on eyelids (so maybe email them first & check is OK?) but kawakawa (native New Zealand plant) is excellent for eczema. .

Gems dry skin cream if she’s not allergic to almond oil. Works wonders and isn’t mad expensive

Diprobase ointment. Prescribed by a top consultant for use on the eyelids for DS. Worked really well. You obviously have to be really careful what you put on the eyelids as you don't want to damage the eye.

I’d ask GP for referral to a paediatric dermatologist as eyelid eczema requires specialist input, especially after trying the steroids that you’ve mentioned.

The only thing one of mine will tolerate is coldn pressed hemp oil.
Diprobase was agony on the eczema, as were other things meant for eczema, but help oil was amazing.
I've heard emu oil too.

I have this... so does my ds. I tried all sorts, Aveeno is pretty good, rosehip oil, Elemis pro college marine cream great. Those are the only things that help that aren’t prescription. I haven’t tried childs farm yet, was next on my list if he has another flare up

Thanks everyone think I'll ask for a dermatologist appointment. She was covered in it as a baby but we kept her slimy covered in Epaderm 24/7 and this is just the last stubborn bit.

Aww bless her, it's the worst when you're coming to an age where appearance becomes so important (rightly or wrongly...)I'm sorry she's suffering. I had eczema as a teen and young adult, I tried to get an appointment with Dr Aron, but he hasn't been taking any more bookings for years.

I went for a hunt to find someone who uses the same or similar method (I'd heard good things about the Aron method) and there is a retired GP in Reading called Dr James Pimm that uses the same method (blending low dose steroid, anti-bacterial and natural oils into a prescription cream) he's really good (well at least I think so) and has been an absolute godsend to me. I think he is giving free consultations at the moment, which is good because he might recommend something and it not cost you a penny.

If anything, I find his articles and resources are really useful and super interesting; he's constantly exploring why people might have eczema etc. This is the link: drpimm.com/consulting-fees/

I had terrible eczema around my eyes a few years ago. I tried a lot of eczema creams that unfortunately felt like burning on my skin when being applied.

I had success with Dr Organic Manuka Honey Rescue Cream from Holland and Barrett.

Might not work for everyone but did wonders for me!
