Hello
I suspect my 7 week old DS has silent reflux. He cries (sometimes) after feeds and sometimes brings his knees up to his tummy. However - this is not all the time and moat of the time he seems pretty contented. am feeding him upright and have tilted his cot just in case. He also seems to be sick when we try tummy time.

He does sound congested and also like he needs to clear his throat.

So what do u think? I went to tje dr who gave me meds for it but DS HATED it - gagged, spat it out. It made me feel awful and I don't want to medicate unecessarily.

Was the medication for the suspected reflux or the chest congestion?

Suspected reflux. His chest is clear.

Listen to your gut instinct. It's usually right. If it doesn't feel worth it to medicate him, don't.

That may change and, if it does, you can change your mind.

Obviously I wouldn't say the same if we were talking about antibiotics.

Parenting is a long series of decisions that you never know whether you made correctly. You just have to make the best decision you can at the time.

Given recent advice about positional asphyxia, is it OK to tilt the cot? I'm happy to be told it is. I just wondered.
