Night sweats/raised lymph nodes

We have an appointment with the doctor on Tuesday but my DS is almost 2 and half and has had a lump on his neck for over a year now. The gp says it's lymph node. I've said about this a few times over the year and he had a blood test back in July and it came back fine. Not sure what they were testing for though. I am freaking out though. He also has night sweats which I thought was just him but I've looked up on the internet and this is also a sign of lymphoma. I know people say it's rare and it won't happen to you but what if my DS is that small number. I'm really worrying and so upset!
Pic attached of what his sweats are like.

Ok. I'm not a doctor.
But, it is quite common for nodes in your neck to stay swollen after infection.
I know the ones at the back of my ears were up for over a year as a child, no apparent reason.
And little ones can be sweaty at night, just because, they're sweaty!
If there are other symptoms, unexplained bruising, tiredness, weight loss, I would be more concerned but what you describe on it's own would not concern me if he is otherwise well.
If you were to google having a splinter in your finger you'd end up dying of sepsis. Always good to be aware of symptoms but Dr Google is no one's friend.

Some children are just incredibly hot sleepers. Mine used to wake up with her hair stuck to her head and covered in beads of sweat.

Hey...so my son is fast approaching 1.5 years off a swollen lymph node on his neck. Came up after ear infection and cold after cold. If it has swollen for no reason what so ever so if he hadn't had a cold in ages and no sign off other vital illnesses then u worry. Kids spend their lives getting poorly. Xx

My two both sweat during the night. A swollen lymph node is really common and the6 can stay raised. Try not to worry. Most likely explanation is nothing worrying at all.

My son has swollen nodes behind his ears and on one side of his neck - he has had them for years. He also developed lymphangitis last year which scared the hell out of us. The paediatrician at our local hospital was amazing - checked him over completely- and said if he is otherwise well, eating well, playing happily and generally himself, then all ok. I know how scary it can be to think your little one is ill. Sending hugs and I’m sure all will be fine. Xxxxxx
