Constipation

One of my 11 week old twin boys has been suffering with constipation for a while now and nothing seems to be resolving it. At first he wasn't having a bowel movement and for 2 days and now that has increased to over 3 days. As time goes on he becomes more upset and visibly uncomfortable with all the straining and when he finally managed to poo it's very soft so not sure why he can't pass a stool. We have tried probiotic drops (he still takes them), fennel tea, we changed to aptamil comfort and then 3 weeks ago we changed to Aptamil without cows milk protein as the doctor suspected protein intolerance. In the last week we have tried a dose of Lactulose which works but isn't really something we want to keep giving him. We'd like to find out the cause but the doctor seems to be out of ideas. The other twin is fine. Has anyone else had this with their baby? Thanks

Once your baby is older than six months you can give him up to four ounces (120ml) of undiluted 100% prune juice over several servings in a day. Start with small quantities to observe the effects, but do not exceed four ounces. Between four and six months you can also introduce a tablespoon of prunes puree a day.

may be worth trying this, prunes help with constipation

@sleepismysuperpower1 thank you! I will definitely try this if it's still happening when their 4 months old but I'm hoping we find a solution before then or I'm in for a tough time for the next month 😅🤞
