Head Lice Treatment that works?

So have been told that there is a breakout of headlice at the school. Now I have checked and my son is fine but was told there is no pre-headlice treatment you can do?

So what is the best course of action? Reading up it seems its better to go with combs and daily shampoo than using chemicals?

100%. Crazy to say but depends how strong the lice are at your DCs school. With ours, cheap conditioner and the expensive metal lice comb worked best. We would mix tea tree oil with water and spray her hair before school, make sure hair is up and told her to keep away from kids heads. This is much easier to drum into once they have had lice and know how gross it is. Thankfully ours have only had it once.
Our friends tried everything though- hair in tight plaits with hair spray, washing everything at 60c and she would still get them all the time. I hope yours never do.

Hedrin once worked better than nitty gritty for us but I did do it twice just to make sure, which it recommends anyway.
