Toddler vomiting episodes 9 days apart

My 19 month old vomited twice last Tuesday night (complained of tummy ache before), and then seemed back to normal for nine days. Then this evening he's vomited again, 3 or 4 times so far. Last week I assumed it was a stomach bug, but so far no one else in the family has caught it, and now that's he's sick again so I'm wondering if it's something else. He has no fever or diarrhea and seemed fine all day until he was sick.

Anyone have experience of a bug coming back like this after more than a week? Or if it's not a bug what else it might be? I wouldn't normally take him to the GP for a bug unless he was dehydrated but I will prob take him tomorrow as this seems a bit odd.

How is he now OP? Last week could have easily been something he ate....

Ring the surgery before you take him. You might be able to have a telephone consultation. It may be that they are different viruses such as rotavirus and norovirus. Definitely get some medical advice and keep the liquids up.

Thanjs for replies.

He was sick again in the night about 1am (didn't really have anything left to bring up though). Then he slept until 5.30 and woke up calling 'mummy, daddy' like most mornings. Just bf-ing him now as he's had no real fluid for a while, so we'll see if that stays down. He seems perfectly happy when not vomiting.

You're right, last week may have been something totally unconnected, it just seemed like a strange coincidence.

Glad you got some respite. I'd definitely ring the surgery though. Explain its vomiting so you should get a telephone consultation.
Mine are a lot older now but I remember mine being sick, what seemed like all the time. Touch wood the last incidence was 5 years ago with BOTH being sick on Christmas eve. That wasn't a fun Christmas Hmm

Argh, donajimena that sounds horrid! I've got him an appt with the nurse later this morning (I asked about telephone consult but they said they're happy for me to bring him in even though he's been vomiting).

If it is a different bug, I'll be watching out to see if we all come down with it now (please, no!) Mind you, last time we had a bug everyone except baby DS got it!

He kept the milk down and has had some water and a few mouthfuls of toast, so hopefully on the mend, but then that's how it was last week too so I'm not convinced it's over yet...
