Is my baby ok?

Before his nap he was screaming his self hoarse all red in the face and really upset, this is very unlike him as he usually goes straight down or has a grumble to himself. When he wakes up he is smiley full of life wanting to crawl about/play/be nosy etc. This time he was a bit floppy so I sat down on the sofa and he just flopped foward and fell asleep on me, something he hasn't done since being a new born. He is breathing fine and sucking his dummy. Should I be worried? He has been sick alot today. I will call the doctor too. He is 7 months btw

If he's been vomiting a lot to day and is floppy I'd prob get him checked out incasebis blood sugars a it low. Try giving him some sugary juice, if you don't have any just dissolve some sugar in water or diluting juice and give him small abouts at a time, a teaspoon every few mins. If you can't wake him then take him to a and e but other wise could try 111 for some advice.

Floppiness is definitely a red flag. I'd get him checked out ASAP.

Floppy baby = ambulance. Phone now and don’t waste anymore time

JontyDoggle37 · 26/09/2018 20:55

Yes please phone an ambulance, any kind of floppy is not good.

Haggisfish · 26/09/2018 20:56

Can you wake him up? I’d call 111 for advice. Does he have temp? Has he weed or pooed as normal?

Justletmego · 26/09/2018 20:57

Really not enough information to say. Is his fontanelle looking normal? Dipped means dehydrated, if it's protruding more than normal then you want to call 111 immediately to be seen.

If he is lethargic (floppy, very weak and tired), pale, breathing slow or fast, showing any signs respiratory distress (sucking his his chest above or below his ribs in an unusual harsh way, flaring his nostrils with each breath) again all flags.

Does he have a fever, any other signs of being unwell other than being lethargic?
