What's your child's shoe size?

Tomorrow is my ds2's birthday, so I decided to buy him a pair of shoes. I measured his foot size, and he's size 11! Frankly, I am shocked. Last year he was only a size 9. I've always known that his feet looked like sausages, but size 11?

What's your child's shoe size?

Will be dependent on age I assume Grin but dd1 (v nearly 8) is a 12 and dd2 (4.5) is a 10

NewYearmorestress · 22/09/2018 15:23

8 year old has size 4 shoes, so only a few sizes smaller than me now.

Courtney555 · 22/09/2018 15:23

DS was ten in the summer. I've just bought him size 8 mens football boots. Still in shock over that.

PeonyTruffle · 22/09/2018 15:23

DS aged 4 is size 13 and DD aged 5 is size 12

AJPTaylor · 22/09/2018 15:36

Dd3 is 10
When she was 9 her feet were a ridiculous size 5.
A year later she is size 7.
She is 99.6 centile for height. Lets hope it slows down in year 6.

Autumn101 · 22/09/2018 15:37

DS1 is 10 and size 4/4.5 in shoes, 5 in football boots and trainers

DS2 is 8 and size 2.5 but his feet are really narrow it’s a nightmare getting anything that’s fits properly!

They’re both pretty average amongst their friends. I think they will end up with big feet though as DH is a size 12

BikeRunSki · 22/09/2018 15:37

DS is just 10 and a size 6.
DD is nearly 7 and a size 2.5
I am a size 9, they were never going to have small feet. Both dc are very tall for their ages too.

Pinkkahori · 22/09/2018 15:40

My 12 year old dd is a 2 and 10 year old dd is a 13.

ilovewelshrarebit123 · 22/09/2018 15:42

My 11 year old DD is a size 2E, she's got tiny narrow feet and can't really wear fashion shoes as they fall off.

motortroll · 22/09/2018 15:51

Both eldest aged 11 and 9 are adult size 5.

4 year old is size 11

SoupDragon · 22/09/2018 15:58

Surely whether it is odd or not depends on how old he is.

Roomba · 22/09/2018 16:01

My just turned 6yo is a child size 11, H width

My 12yo is an adult size 11(!), width HH+(or was it H++? Either way it's Clarkes speak for we don't make square clown shoes, sorry!). Dread to think what size he will finally end up at, I can't afford handmade custom shoes!

AuntieStella · 22/09/2018 16:04

My DS are also wearing size 10 or 11, DD a 6. All teens, and she keeps 'borrowing' my shoes.

Vinorosso74 · 22/09/2018 16:05

8yo DD is size 4. Her shoe size has followed her school year so I'm hoping they stop growing at some point!

RadagastTheBrown · 22/09/2018 16:21

6 year old DS is a 13H.

BusySittingDown · 22/09/2018 16:28

11 year old DD1 was measured at a 4 and a half in Clark’s so she’s wearing a size 5. DD2 aged 7 is a 1 and a half. Last year DD1 measured a 4 so has only grown half a size, DD2 has grown a full size as she was 13 and a half. I’m only a 4.

WannaBeAWarhol · 22/09/2018 16:32

DS1 is 8 he's a size 2. DS2 is nearly 4 he's a size 11.

shazkiwi · 22/09/2018 16:34

12 year old DD adult size 6
6 year old DD size 12

youarenotkiddingme · 22/09/2018 16:40

Ds 14 (yr 10) is a size 8.

He was only a size 4 when he started year 8 and size 6 when he started year 9!

At infants/juniors he only really went up a size a year (Aug birthday so age for school year!)

Aged 4 size 9
Aged 5 size 10
Age 6 size 11
Age 7 size 12
Age 8 size 13
Age 9 size 1
Age 10 size 2
Age 11 size 3.

From friends kids and these threads it appears he doesn't particularly have big feet (yet!) and starting secondary school as a size 3 is unusual?
