Chicken Pox, Hand Foot Mouth or other?

I’m trying to avoid GP as if it’s CP or HFM as they’re obviously crazy contagious.

1 year old been very unwell for a couple of days, agitated, high fever, not wanting put down etc. He also came out in a fine rash all over - I have 2 older dc and looked just like a viral thing.

He no longer has a fever but there are now some bigger spots, and blisters alongside the rash.

Most photos are of obvious body parts but close ups are armpits & the very sore looking one is inner thigh. He also has couple of white sore patches on tip of tongue. Crotch area has smaller less angry spots, scrotum bright red 😞

It looks more like HFM to me from the photos, but I'm sure a GP or pharmacist would be happy to check him over as he's very little. I think the treatment would be the same for either though - keep him isolated until the spots clear up, paracetamol if he needs it and lots of TLC.

I’m now thinking HFM too but not sure GP would want him in the surgery. I’ll maybe give them al call this afternoon and see what they say.

Our GP said it can be impossible to tell the difference between them. Doesn't really matter anyway, treatment is the same for either.

I’d quite like to know just to be able to say he’s had it etc, when eldest too had it (there was no doubt then) the GP’s wanted me to phone to make a record of it. But like you say they might not even be able to tell.

It’s spreading like wildfire now on hand and all up arms and legs. I’ll grab some lotion and more painkiller etc.
