Red swollen feet - what is this?

My 14mo DD's feet this morning have gone all red and puffy - see the attached picture? Anyone seen this sort of thing before? Any ideas what it could be?

Looks like hives to me. Has it improved today? Any insect bite mark?

It went down really quickly so I think you're right and it was hives!
