Hairy legs (with photo)

My not long turned 4 year old has over the past couple of weeks got really hairy legs.
They’re quite dark and I didn’t expect her to have noticeably hairy legs this early.
Is this normal?
She’s not noticed it to be honest, but a couple of her older cousins have.

Photo here!
She had literally nothing there before, except some very blonde fluff.

Bumping for some reassurance from the evening crew!

Oh that’s quite dark isn’t it! Is she fair haired/dark haired?

My first thought is her hair may be darkening with age but I had very similar coloured hair to her and I just started shaving at 11

DD is 8 and her legs have looked like that for ages, and so have her friends’ legs. I think we are so used to smooth adult legs that we forget what normal leg hair is like.

If there isn’t any hair anywhere else that might indicate early puberty, at which point definitely see the GP, then I wouldn’t worry about it. Be prepared that she might get self conscious and ask to start removing it by the time she’s in junior school though. But for now I definitely wouldn’t say anything unless she brings it up herself.

She’s not very dark. I would say a mid brown hair with sun bleached highlights.
I’m quite fair and her dad was blonde as a child, but quite dark and hairy now.
I expect some sort of leg hair, but to go from blonde fluff to proper brown hair over a few weeks (especially in summer where you’d expect hair to lighten) worries me a bit.

Lots of children on my reception class have leg hairs like that.

It sounds like it’s a 4/5 year old thing then.
She very much had baby hair there until a few weeks ago.
Her arm hair isn’t any darker and no signs of hair elsewhere.

I think we are just so used to non hairy legs cos we're adults.

My girl's about same age. Hair looks about the same it's just yours is darker.
