My son had this 2 weeks ago - possibly brushed pass one of those horrid plants

Needs antibiotic cream - see if the nurse is about whi can prescribed -

Urgent according to the pharmacist

GreenTulips · 20/08/2018 16:21

molluscum

No that's different - and not clump forming -

This spreads rapidly

ZenNudist · 20/08/2018 16:24

Thanks for replies. He had molloscum contagion as a toddler. It was just some skin bumps and never swollen or clustered like this.

Hmmmm guess i will make him stick to his own towel. Yuk.

I've never seen molluscum in a cluster like that. They tend to be more random.

ZenNudist · 20/08/2018 16:28

I don't think it's fast spreading he's had it like that for a while and I think I thought it was going to go away I rather thought it was pus-y and then realise that it's hard

Ask a pharmacist.

BlackInk · 20/08/2018 16:44

Warts?

ZenNudist · 20/08/2018 17:09

@BlackInk sigh thats a likely one isnt it. How odd to get it on your knee. I thought it was a skinned knee gone pus-y but has been there too long and is hard.

Pharmacist?

ZenNudist · 20/08/2018 17:48

Successful diagnosis via Mumsnet and Dr Google. It is a wart perhaps I better start a thread asking how to treat them...

OP posts:
meadowmeow · 20/08/2018 17:51

I would have it checked first. Mumsnet and Google are not qualified to diagnose.

ZenNudist · 20/08/2018 20:57

Well dh works with a load of dermatologists so is going to ask them too.

It looks exactly like the pics online and hes had molluscum / finger warts before. Ugh its such a shame but i guess its a common ailment.

We know a good non-invasive wart treatment discovered from dh's work and that sorted out ds's finger warts a treat. I would certainly ask someone else before going in with saylic acid and emery boards.

Dd has a clump of warts just like that!! On her knee too. Been there about a year and don't look like they are going. Dr said no treatment just wait for then to go. So interested in any updates on possible treatments!!
