4mo cough/cold - help!

My 4 month old DS has a cough and a cold. I'm alternating Calpol and nurophen. Is there anything I can do to help him?

Are there any medicines that can help him?

When my DC was younger I tried the snuffle babe drops and the calpol saline nasal spray. The spray was def the better one.

You can get a kids olbas oil which I used to put on my DC bib in the day and sleeping bag or babygrow at night. I'm sure you can use this from 3 months.

I know calpol do a calcough syrup but I've never used it.

The best thing I found for coughing especially at night time was a humidifier. I'd tried wet towels over the doors and bowls of water near radiators but they didn't work. The humidifier was like magic and I'd never be without mine. Argos had a good range to suit most budgets.

Hope your LO feels better soon. It's horrible seeing them poorly when they're so small.

Thanks so much memory

Been to boots and picked up the saline drops, cough syrup and baby olbas oil and also ordered a humidifier from Amazon to be dilivered this eve!

DS basted the saline spray butloved the apple flavour cough syrup!! I've put olbas on his Bob and he's now having a nice long sleep!!

Thanks again

I second the humidifier, works really well. Also you can get snuffle babe rub which is baby version of vapo rub for under 2 year olds, rub on his chest and back and some even swear by rubbing it on their feet and putting socks over before bedtime but it's never worked for my ds. Anything worth a try when they can't sleep its awful.

Oo I have some of that snuffle rub! Will use it on him tonight. Thank you!
