Advice on this rash please?

My baby boy is 3 weeks old & was admitted to hospital at 1 week old with a staphylococcus skin infection. He was treated with IV antibiotics for 6 days & then sent home.

I may be paranoid but he has come out in a rash today & I'm unsure whether it's the return of the staph infection or a simple heat rash?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

i would at his age get that looked at

Missmiller · 07/08/2018 19:34

I would also get this checked given history of staph infection and age

Bananacentral · 07/08/2018 19:39

It’s looks just like my LOs heat rash, BUT rashes can look similar but not be same thing so as PP have said with history it might be worth popping to GP/call out of hours? Does it go away with a cool bath?

nervyuyt · 07/08/2018 20:06

Probably nothing OP but given his age and history I would definitely be having him seen tonight

anotherangel2 · 07/08/2018 20:08

Definitely get it check out. He is so tiny.

Elliss2018 · 07/08/2018 20:09

Definitely get checked out, hope babe is okay xxx

Do you have an out of hours GP service or similar you can take him to? Or failing that phone 111. In my experience doctors are always happy to check newborns over and you won't be wasting their time.

Are there white heads on the bumps? My D.C. has the same at the mo

I too would advise getting a gp to look at your dc.. No doctor minds seeing a newborn when parents are worried.
