My granddaughter has been in hospital for 3 weeks except the day she was sent home after 1st week. Gd has got excema and came out with a red welt like scald on her neck. Gdaughter had an appointment with a dermatologist, who sent her home with some cream, 1 day later she was admitted into hospital. With the rash / mark completely around her neck, which then went sluffy, red raw and weeping with pus. This then spread down her chest. She was sent home a few days later with oral antibiotics n paracetamol. The mark was still spreading and was readmitted 1/2 days later still in excruciating pain. The burn like rash had spread to her armpits. They thought it was cellulitis and lymphoma, put onto the high dependacy unit. Over next 2 weeks they have had numerous cannuals in hands and feet. All had problems with swelling etc and had to be removed. Today they are putting in the 6/7 cannula, as they took 1 out yesterday and stopped on of the antibiotics, but the infection is still spreading, so they need to put her bk on the meds. The s s s s has spread to her stomach, groins, buttocks, back of knees, arms. They say they have specialists from other hospitals, but I don't have any confidence with the treatment she is receiving and they are not forthcoming with info as what they are going to do, eg the antibiotics they are using are only having a little bit of effect and not clearing the infection. A doctor had to put on regular oramorph as it had been on PRN, and she was not beening offered it even though she was screaming with pain. They said that if she didn't improve in a few days they would transfer her to another hospital. But that has not happened either. It's a shambles and how much can a little body take without more complications sets in. I have tried to get in touch with the Pals in the hospital, but no one answers. My question is what can I do to help, who to go to to get better medical attention, I am so concerned that they are have missed something and she will deteriorate more and lose her life. If anyone can give me some advise or knows a medical person that can advise, I would appreciate any help thank you in advance
