10 week old with rash

Ds has a rash. Worse on his face, neck and sides of his body although it is all over his body. It's like red pin pricks.
His soft spot is slightly sunken too (more so than usual)
I'm unsure of whether I'm just worrying or if I should call out of hours...

Please get him checked asap

Does he have a temp?
Has he been feeding?

My ds was only 6 weeks old when he was poorly with meningitis.
Had him checked 3x and on the 3rd time they did lumbar puncture and results came back as meningitis.
Never chance it with babies so young.

MrsG95 · 16/07/2018 17:56

His temp when last checked was 36.4
He had his first set of immunisations on Friday too..
He's been feeding well, very loose poos though

Temp is good
Could be a reaction from the imms

I would ring just in case.
Loose stools as well could indicate virus but always better to be safe than sorry

Didnt mean to scare you before.
Id hate it to be something more serious Flowers

at 10 weeks I would get him checked definitely

No harm in ringing OOH and talking it through with them. With such a little baby you can never be too careful

Nogodsnomasters · 16/07/2018 22:21

Yes I would get him seen for the rash, as far as I know none of the immunisations cause a rash other than redness around injection site. The fact his temp is normal is great but with one that small you can never be too careful and no decent doctor would think you were wasting their time I promise.
