Any idea what these raised bumps could be?

A couple of days ago, we noticed that DD (16 months) had a small bump on her back. About half the size of a pea, same colour as her skin, just a little raised bump. It wasn't bothering her, and didn't seem to hurt when we touched it, so we figured it was maybe an insect bite and just kept an eye on it.

She now has a few more - maybe 4/5 in total, one on her hand, the one on her back, one on her foot and a couple of others.

DS has developed a few as well.

They don't seem to be itchy, and both kids are in good form, eating well etc. Neither has any underlying conditions.

Initially I thought they were getting chicken pox, but the spots have no blisters, and as I say, both kids seem fine.

Anyone any ideas what these bumps could be?

Sorry, I realise a photo would be helpful, but they're both asleep - I'll try tomorrow. They're a bit like the photo that @FloraHiggins posted, but slightly bigger and not as many - just individual ones here and there.

Not as red as molloscum, @reallyanotherone but about that size.

The picture was of molluscum belfast! It sounds as though it may be that, though if you’ve experienced it before and don't think that it is, then maybe not

Molluscum isn’t always red.

My dd’s just look like raised skin coloured bumps. She has about 4 individual ones. I have just one on my hand, which again hust looks like a skin coloured bump.

I've attached a photo of the one on DD's foot.

Looks like molluscum to me!

BelfastSmile · 15/07/2018 09:05

Another spot; this one's a bit redder (not a great photo, sorry).

So you think molluscum? I don't need to do anything about it then?

It definitely looks like molluscum! Not a health professional so reluctant to say completely ignore in case it’s not but if those appeared on my dc, that’s what I would do!

BelfastSmile · 15/07/2018 09:59

Thanks @FloraHiggins - I had a look on the NHS website and it said I don't need to do anything. I'll keep an eye on them both and see the GP or pharmacist if anything changes!

Yep, molluscum.

Best thing is to leave well alone. They will go in a few months usually.
