Another DC with a rash!

DS, 13, has had this rash for a week now. Ant-histamines doing nothing. Doesn't feel ill, although a bit weepy and lethargic, but he is a teenager and it's very hot! 111 said go to pharmacy, pharmacist said see a doctor, out-of-hours doctor wasn't sure but said to try antibiotics but so far no improvement. It's all over his body and is a mixture of small bumps like large goosepimples making his skin all bumpy and then larger red weals. It's not especially itchy but a bit 'prickly' apparently. Baffled.. Any suggestions?

No temp, eating and drinking normally? No change in bowel movements? If all that's grand then it would definitely seem like some kind of dermatitis to me. No change in washing powder, shower gel? Surprised the doctor didn't suggest any kind of topical treatment and gave an antibiotic despite no other sign of infection (unless the spots themselves look infected individually?)

Thanks for your reply Nogods. Some if the larger red blotches looked a bit yellow towards the centre. I guess the doctor thought they might be infected. Or he was just fobbing us off as he had no idea and it was the weekend! Pharmacist said he couldn't give anything topical as the rash is all over - the red blotches are mostly on the trunk with a few on the limbs, but the raised bump texture is all over the body including face. He'd have to bath in it! If no improvement by tomorrow am tempted to try the GP and request whoever is good at rashes!

Still no better. No idea what it could be or what would get rid of it. Bumping in the hopes someone else will have some helpful advice!
