If anyone could help me work out what this is - reckon it could be pox? He doesn't seem at all unwell though...

They look like bites. Are they itchy?

Pinkgeorge · 02/07/2018 19:24

I think they look like bites? Do they have any fluid in them

mamansnet · 02/07/2018 19:25

Looks like a bite to me.

strawberrypenguin · 02/07/2018 19:29

Look more like bites to me.

Passthecake30 · 02/07/2018 19:30

Are there anymore? The big one at the top could be the "daddy pox" i.e. The big one... both of mine had one like that which scared...and then the smaller one would be a normal pox? Time will tell, as there are lots of midges out there atm.

My dd wasn't ill at all with chicken pox, he had about 10-15 only. Dd had about 300 everywhere... high temps and thoroughly miserable. As I would have been.

fatcats · 02/07/2018 19:32

The big one started as a small round fluid filled spot and has developed into this over a day or so...he has another fluid filled one not pictured. Yeah perhaps they are bites - will see how we go!

The bug spot does look like a CP spot that has burst and scabbed over. If it was fluid filled then pox is very likely.

When did the first spot appear? Usually the spots multiply rapidly as soon as the first one appears, usually within the first 24-48 hours. Then the first batch start scanning and new fluid filled blisters appear. There’s usually a few waves of new spots over a week.

MizCracker · 02/07/2018 19:36

*big spot

fatcats · 02/07/2018 20:11

I think I first noticed it on Saturday, so I'd expect a few more would have appeared? He probably has about 8 spots, but only a couple have the fluid...

Are they itchy?

TokyoSushi · 02/07/2018 21:41

I'd say they probably are, you'll know more by morning, once they start they all come out pretty quickly!

MizCracker · 02/07/2018 21:42

It could be a really mild case. If it is, it tends not to be enough to provide immunity. I know twin boys who had chicken pox three times each Shock Once really mild, second time slightly less mild, third time loads of spots. Fingers crossed that’s it for them!

fatcats · 03/07/2018 08:56

Pretty sure it is chicken pox now - loads of spots this morning and a temp of 38

Both my DS had only about 10 pox spots altogether, so could be

Luckymummy22 · 03/07/2018 10:45

I think the pics today look more like chickenpox. Could it be both? Bites and chickenpox?

Passthecake30 · 03/07/2018 20:49

That looks like the version that my son had, it was certainly chicken pox as he spread around nicely!
