Hearing aid dropped in water! Quick fix needed

Friday night, my DD dropped her hearing aid in water. We've had it in the special case they give you with the crystals to absorb any moisture.

Unfortunately, that didn't work. So I put it in some rice and had it in the sunshine, hoping that would work but checked today and it is still not working.

She's going away with camp this week and therefore can't make it to any appointments I make for a replacement.

Anyone know of any way to get it working again? Thanks on advance

Do you have an airing cupboard? Take it apart as much as you can including the hard plastic tube bit, and leave it in there as it's quite dry heat. It worked for me once!

Sometimes changing the battery again as you might have put new one in and it was still damp so then battery stops working.

Tried changing the battery. Nothing.

Will try taking it apart and putting in airing cupboard. Need it to work as she'll struggle on camp otherwise

Not sure if it’s like a mobile phone with a chip but you should never switch it on while it’s still wet as that shorts out the microchip connections. Basically it’s gone then

Glad it helped! I've done mine once or twice in my lifetime! Hope she enjoys Camp!
